Just Some Random Pictures

Here are a few random pictures to sum up the rest of our February...

Bailee FINALLY broke the twenty pound mark, it only took her 18 months, and so Grammy and Pa (their grandma and grandpa marler) got the kiddos forward facing car seats. I didnt get a picture of Bailee in one, but they sat in them until it was time for bed and then we had to litterally pry them out of the seats to get them to their room. Thanks Grammy and Pa!

Bailee is such a messy eater that we always have to do bath time RIGHT after dinner. Sometimes (okay, a lot of times) she is too messy for the tub (aka - i dont want them bathing in the food they just ate) and so we have to do a pre-rinse in the sink.

These are their "say cheese" faces. Pretty cute right?!

I know you cant tell by the picture, but one of their favorite places to play right now is in the pocket of the rocking chair. They crawl in their and drop cars in their and then try to pull them out. I think they secretly only like it becasue it pops my bubble so much. : )

This is one of my favorite pictures of Brigham because I caught him right in the middle of saying "Here go" to Bailee. She had stole his stick and he wanted it back and so he was saying here ya go, as in give it back you little thief! I love how he picks up on what we say and starts repeting it, it makes it so Paul has to talk nicer. : )

Bailee's Bibs

I love this little girl in her cover-alls. She walks around non-chalantly with her arms in side them, or else walks around patting her hands on the sides of them. Of course she wouldnt do either one of those things for the picture, but this grin is pretty cute, so I guess I will be happy with it. : )

Playing Dress Up

Ooorrr... Terrorizing the dresser drawers since they can open the closets up now... Either way, they are in love with pulling ALL of the clothes out so they can sift through the wreckage and find an outfit to put on. Here is the evidence.

I know the last one is a little x-rated but they really do love to take off our socks and put them on their feet.

Trikes

For Christmas the kids got two wagons and one trike, which is kind of backwards of what we needed, so we took one wagon back and got them another trike. I told myself I wasn't going to have trikes in the house and it was too cold to have them outside so we stashed them away "for easter..." Yeah, that lasted until Valentines day, which is pretty good for me. : ) Anyway, we got out the trikes on Valentines day and they were in HEAVEN!!

Brigham ran straight for the pink one, for some reason he always wants the pink things. It really bugs Paul. : ) But lately he's been pointing at pink things and saying "sissy," so maybe is growing out of that phase. Anyway, it took a while for them to learn how to maneuver the trikes, especially the pink one because it is bigger, but they eventually got it down and now they push each other around on them, either using their hands or their feet...

Bailee's favorite part of the whole ordeal is running into things. She giggles so loud whenever she does, and so Brigham just keeps running her into things. Little terrors.

They are pretty stinking cute though.

Grandma B's Airplanes

In February it started warming up and so the airplanes started using the airport by our house more often. Brigham is in LOVE with them and every time one flies over the house he gets so excited and comes running to us pointing to his forehead, his way of signing airplane. So on February 12th we went over to visit Paul's mom who works at the airport.
Her boss was good enough to let us go tour the planes and we even got to go inside of one.

Brigham was so excited even though you cant really tell from the picture. Bailee was too.

Paul was quizing away James, our tour guide, for a bit and then he climbed in to be with the kiddos.

Bailee was content to sit on the seats in the back...

But Brigham had to be right up from touching everyting. It's funny how when they leave the house their personalities kind of flop, Bailee becomes more timid and her brother more courageous.

RSV

RSV has been so prevalent this winter, it seemed like we went to their 18 month check up in January where they said "Beware: RSV" and then about a week later (February 6th) Bailee was back in the office and they were telling me she had it.

She had been so sick with a cold that we started her on Albuterol treatments.

When she wasn't getting better and she stopped eating and drinking and her diapers were next to dry for the whole night I thought we better take her in. They tested her for RSV and it came back possitive. She also had a double ear infection. Poor little girl.

So they sent us to the Prescription Center for a bolust (just a fancy way of saying they pushed fluids for her) and they were supposed to do a blood draw too. But they couldn't. Why? Remember all those old posts about how sassy and stubborn this little girl is? That's why. Add on top of that that she is sick and she hadnt had a nap yet, or food for that matter becasue we had been in doctors offices all afternoon, and her personality nearly quadruples in size. She may be tiny, but she is a fighter. She screamed and Screamed and SCREAMED!!! She kicked and pulled, twisted and turned and when they finally got into the vein, which is tiny because she still only weighs 19 1/2 pounds, the vein blew. So we started all over again... About thirty minutes and five Dum Dum suckers later we finally got an IV in her little arm and got it taped on. We pushed the bolust and said forget the blood draw (Thank goodness!!)becasue their was no way we were going to get it without blowing her vein again.

Bailee if you ever read this you should know that the nurses said you were the fightingest patient they had ever seen, and that you were even worse than the two and three year olds that they have come in. Grammy attributes it to being a NICU baby. She said you learned to be a fighter in there. You're a good girl.

I didnt get too many pictures (I wonder why?) but this is her, finally content to sit in mommas lap with her bazillionth dum dum.

This was her IV all wrapped up in an arm board and LOTS of horse wrap so that she couldnt pull it out.

This was her on the way home. She was so tired. She only asked for one cookee (veggie straw) and then she couldnt even eat it, she fell asleep before we got to Teri's to pick up Brigham. We finally got home around 5pm. And then we had to go back the next morning to have her checked again. She got another bolust at the Prescription Center and then we were clear to go home. Dr. Edwards was kind enough to keep checking Brigham everytime he saw us because he thought that he would for sure get it. He was right, I'm pretty sure... He was just as sick and snotty nosed and grumpy as Bailee was although we didnt take him in becasue he didnt ever get as dehydrated as Bailee did. We just pushed lots of fluids and did albuterol treatments for him.

He was also kind (NOT!) enough to tell us that RSV is recurring. It goes away for six weeks and then comes back, and then goes away for six weeks and then comes back in the middle of the summer... Lovely...

Hair Cuts

Brigham and Bailee's Auntie Jenni is always so generous with her time and skills. I have been hitting her up for the kid's last few hair cuts because Brigham is such a stinker about them and Bailee has girl hair. How do you cut girl hair?! So this time we did it on the bathroom counter at home.

Bailee was first.

She just sat there so content to play with the squirt bottle while Jenni cut her hair.

I've been dying for a little A-frame in the back. Jenni said it was long enough to do a little one this time and I was so excited.

The final product. If only I could be dedicated to doing it this cute every morning. : )

Next it was Brigham's turn. Up til now he has always SCREAMED when we cut his hair. I mean really SCREAMED. And kicked and wiggled and done pretty much anything to get out of my lap while Jenni cut his hair. So last time we did it Jenni told me to start doing his hair and letting him play with the clippers so that they weren't so unfamiliar to him. So we started doing his hair each morning. So this time around I thought if we cut it where I always comb their hair in the morning it might be more familiar to him and easier to do. Not only was it easier, but he kept asking for Jenni to do his hair while she was doing Bailee's. I am one LUCKY momma. It was so easy this time.

He was happy with the water squirter too, but he also kept flipping the lights on and off. Nugget.

Note the direction he is squirting the water. But he wasnt screaming so I wasn't going to touch it. : )
We left it a bit longer this time because his hair is so blonde that when it is short he looks bald. He's a toe head like his papa was.

Okee Dokee...

So since I've got the kids caught up, I guess it is time to play catch up on the last few months... Here we go.

Brigham Paul

This is our Brigham.

He is ALL boy. He loves to run, jump, climb, spin, and kick. He loves to pick on his sister.

If they're off playing and Bailee starts crying it is safe to assume that Brigham is guilty. Unlike his sister though, who does everything on purpose and to tease, he just gets carried away in his play. When I tell him he hurt Bailee he gets a look of remorse and goes to give her kisses. He has a VERY big heart.

He loves food. Any kind of food but noodles that is. He will eat them but not very much. He's a meat head, any kind and any where, that is what he wants. But he also likes the sunkist brand of fruit snacks, pretzels, gogurts, and cheese. But not cheese heads, he will spit those out. Nugget.

He has a lot of words. It seems like he says more every day. Here are a few that I can think of right now.
Up-uh - for getting rolled up in a blanket, or being picked up
Cheese - for any food in general, except for cheese because she doesn't like it
Nok - for fruit snacks
NO - Usually for when Bailee has stollen a toy from him
Dub-dub-dub - For washing his hands or brushing his teeth
Don't!
Sisseeee or Baybayyy- for refering to his sister.
Baybay is also what he says for when he wants his blanket.
Hi and Buh bye
Juice, hot and book
Cookie - for a graham cracker or vanilla wafer
Cah - for a treat out of the Cah-ndy jar
He also signs a few words like more, drink, airplane, please, thank you, and bird. He blows kisses and knows the animal sounds for cat, dog, fish (blip), chicken and bird.
He blows kisses to say sorry so that he can get out of time out.
Pa - is used in refference to all of the grandparents. He doesnt say a word for grandma or grammy yet. Nugget.
Dis or Dees - for whatever he wants that he is pointing to
Moo-bee - for music
Ear go (here ya go) - for trading a toy with his sister whether she wants to or not, and for giving things in general.

His choice of drink on most days is "watee..." He will pick it over orange or apple juice and milk.

He carries this water mug off to some corner in the house, usually his bedroom closet, and just sits there and sips on it until Bailee comes to steal it from him. The only thing he likes more than water is gatorade, but we try to reserve that for when he is sick.

He also loves match box cars, motor bikes and airplanes. We live near the airport in Rigby and he gets so excited to hear and see the airplanes flying over the house. He will come and find me where ever I am and point to his forehead, his rendition of the sign for airplane. And thanks to his Grandma B...

...he got to go see the airplanes at Queen Bee Airspace in Rigby. He even got to go inside and try out the controls. He was in heaven.

He loves to "rub dub dub dub" his hands and his teeth and to play dress up, especially if it includes his sisters clothes. They are always better.

He loves music. He started dancing on his own, but I have tried to foster it the best I can. One day I'm sure he will realize that his mom is an AWFULL dancer. : ) He begs for the radio at home, for pandora, for the radio in the car and for Pandora on Pa's I-Pad in his office. He has the cutest little dance to go with the songs he really likes.

His all time favorite thing, though, is his Da-dee. From the moment Paul walks in the door from work to the moment he leaves for work in the morning this little boy is attached at the hip him. Sometimes I feel so left out and un-loved, but a lot of the time it is just nice to have a little break from the monster. : ) Even though Paul gets a little frustrated with the kids needing to be by their daddy all the time he is a good sport about it.

Here they are at Grandma B's sorting through the matchbox cars to find the "ones that were my favorite when I was little."

This little boy is quite the nugget. He has been making it very hard to baby-proof our house. It seems like he is always getting into something that he shouldnt be, but we love him so much. He adds a spirit to our home that couldn't be replaced by anyone else.

Bailee Deborah

This is our Bailee Girl.

Her favorite toys include any little cup she can put an ice cube in, books, her trike, books, dart guns, things to do her hair with, like combs and blow dryers and curling irons, and more books.

She also likes blocks right now. Not to build with, but to knock them over. I cant even start a tower with out her knocking it over. : )

She has always been a better talker than Brigham. She was a chatter box from the minute she found her voice. Always babbling on and on. Now that she can say words it's never ending. Her words include:
Up-uh - for getting rolled up in a blanket, or being picked up
Cheese - for any food in general, except for cheese because she doesn't like it
NO! - She's had that one down for a while, and she is really good at using it. : )
Dub-a-dub-a-dub - For washing her hands or brushing her teeth
Don't! - For when her brother is picking on her
Hi and Buh bye
Juice, hot and book
Cookie - for a graham cracker or vanilla wafer
Cah - for a treat out of the Cah-ndy jar
She also sign a few words like more, drink, airplane, please (but it kills her to do it), thank you, and bird. She blows kisses and knows the animal sounds for cat, dog, fish (blip), chicken and bird.

She loves to tease. She thinks it's funny to run in every direction she can until you catch her if youre trying to. She also loves to wait until you get to "3" ("Give that back right now or else you'll go to time out. 1,2,3!") to give her borthers toys back. Although right now Bailee's (and Brigham's) favorite thing is to stand at your side while you change a bum and say "poo poo." If you're a novice at the art of twins you will fall for that trick and completely undress them to change their bum. But if you have had practice you will know to ask if they are teasing, because most of the time they get a big ol' grin and run away as if to say "nope mom, I'm not really poopy. But its funny that you thought I was."

She loves to be included. If someone is tickling Brigham she comes over and wiggles her fingers in your face until you tickle her too. She has to have a drink if brother has one, she has to have a hug if brother is getting one and she has to have the same toys all the time.

If her brother is outside at Grammy and Pa's house in the freezing cold going for a four wheeler ride she has to be out there too, although she doesn't like the four wheeler that much so she will stand in an over-sized coat and stare and Brigham and Pa plowing the yard, just to feel like she is part of it.

She is always wanting to help with what ever you are doing. She stands at the dryer and waits for the wet clothes to go on the lid so that she can push them into it. She stands at the dishwasher until I lift her onto the counter so that she can help with the dishes. She pushes the vaccuum and the broom with me. She's always finding little tiny pieces of garbage so that she can throw them away. And if you try to tell her she can throw it away in a minute, she will stand at your feet and say "Uh! Uh! Uh!" until you open up the door for her to get to the garbage. Lately,

this has been the only way I get my laundry hung up. They sit in the sock buckets on the shelf and hand me the hangers. It is pretty fun for me and them.

She LOVES to get her hair done. She will stand at the bathroom door and say "Uh! Uh! Uh!" (a phrase that I am growing SOOO tired of) and patting herself on the head until you tell her yes or no, she can or cant do her hair right now. I know you cant tell from the pictures but when Auntie Jenni asked her if she wanted to do her hair she walked right up to her and stood at her feet. Then she sat there very patiently while Jenni held the curlers in. It wasn't until mom showed up with the camera that she put that frown on.

She loves pasta. If I would let her, she would eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She will eat any kind of noodle, and any kind of sauce. She loves Kraft mac and cheese, home made mac and cheese, any kind of hamburger helper, and spaghetti. Lately I have been cooking big batches of penne pasta so that I can keep it in the firdge and then I just add a little bit of whatever sauce I have in the fridge that day. She will point at it and nod her head, asking for it every time the fridge opens up.

She also loves to be messy with ALL of her food. I can pretty much count on it being on her hands, her elbows, her whole face, her ears, in her hair and down her shirt EVERY time she eats.

She loves to get into bags. Purses, diaper bags, grocery sacks, anything that can hold something. She will sneak into anythiny left in her reach. Nugget!

My favorite thing about Bailee is that her brother is her best friend already. When Brigham is crying she will get his blanket and Gloria (his stuffed hippo) for him. When he is fussing about a diaper change she will bring him a toy to play with while he gets his bum changed. When she wakes up before him she points at the bedroom door and asks "Uh? Uh? Uh?" to see if she can go get him yet. And when she finally hears him on the baby monitor she gets so excited and runs to his door to knock on it until I get there and open it up for her. Then she runs to his crib with a big huge grin which is returned by her brother. Sometimes I feel so second-rate around the house. : ) They can always be found together, in cahoots and up to no good.

This is them giving kisses. It is so hard to catch. It's always drive by style, leaving no time for me to catch the picture. : )

She is quite the sassy little girl, she knows what she wants and she very good at pouting or throwing fits when she doesn't get her way, either with us or her brother. Being born first was very befitting of her personality. : ) Mostly though, we just love her and can't imagine our home with out her. She is our Bailee Girl.
