The BLASTED Kitchen Cupboards

So the kids learned that they could open up the kitchen cupboards and drawers. I haven't really been able to stop them. So I moved the tupperware up to the second drawer and put the things I didn't care if they got into in the bottom drawer. It worked out pretty well. At first.



But then that turned into this...



See the drawer that's open above Brigham's head? Yeah. He started climbing up on the ledge of the bottom drawer and using his arms to scale onto the second drawer and then onto the counter. I was too lazy to do anything about it at first but then I was in the bathroom one day and heard the car alarm going off... Yeah, needless tosay both kids were on the counter, Brigham was in the knives and Bailee had the car keys. Oops!








So the kids helped me install a new lock on the drawer. (By help I mean run off with the tools I need and always be sitting where I need to be drilling...) It only took about an hour to do and I found myself wondering why I hadn't done it sooner.



This is Bailee trying to get into the cupboard after I put the lock on. She was so mad that she couldn't get it open and all I could think was "HECK YEAH!!!!"
